1 Secretlab Titan Evo Series
The best gaming chair on the market, with high-end materials and details. Great variety of designs
Material: High-quality synthetic leather / Fabric / Leather
Backrest inclination: 165º
Weight capacity: up to 180 kg (397 lbs) (XL model)
Accessories: viscoelastic foam headrest / magnetized
Weight: 34.5 Kg (75 lbs)
The Secretlab Titan is probably the best gaming chair today.
As soon as you take it out of the box you can tell that this is a premium product. The packaging protects all the components perfectly packed and its instructions, although they come in English, are perfectly understandable thanks to a generous sheet with images on the assembly, which by the way is quite simple and fast (10 minutes). You can also watch videos about the assembly with Spanish subtitles by scanning the QR code.
Something that is pleasantly surprising is the amount of adjustments it has and the wide range of each one, from the 4D armrests, tilt and height adjustments and what most differentiates it from other gaming chairs; its lumbar curvature adjustment both in position and degree of curvature. This makes it especially comfortable to keep the lower back rested.
The finishes range from high quality leather, with the most beautiful design in my opinion, to fabric finishes with a particularly pleasant feel that allows better breathability in summer. You can also choose the size of the chair according to your height and weight, so you can be sure that it will adapt well to you.
Another of the brand’s strengths is that there is a huge range of colors and finishes to choose from, making it very difficult not to find a design that suits your tastes.
Negative points? Obviously such a product is not at all cheap, so it is reserved for people who can afford this investment.
And I say investment and not expense, because if you spend many hours sitting, playing or working on it (as is my case) in the long run it will pay off, as it is one of the things that you will amortize the most, both for its durability and for the health of your lower back. Not in vain after many tests, it is the chair that I currently have on my desk.
High quality finish
Adjustable in all directions
Comfortable and robust
Huge variety of finishes
Requires heavy investment
2 Valk Nyx
A gaming chair with excellent finishes and value for money.
Material: Synthetic leather / High density foam
Backrest inclination: 160º.
Weight capacity: 120 Kg
Accessories: Cervical and lumbar cushion
Weight: 19.2 kg
Valk is a recently created Spanish company dedicated to the manufacture of gaming chairs with special care for the design and high quality of its components.
There are several models of this brand that I find remarkable, as its top of the range Valk Freya, but I decided to put in this list the Valk Nyx for its excellent value for money. It has a very successful design and finishes worthy of higher-end gaming chairs.
It is a very comfortable chair, finished in synthetic leather quite resistant and with a high density foam that has the right point of absorption and recovers the shape when you get up from it, ensuring high durability.
The backrest can be adjusted up to 160º, and the whole chair can be tilted up to 15º, which is more comfortable as it has more adjustment options. The lumbar cushion, on the other hand, also allows height adjustment, something very useful since not all of us have the same anatomy or taste when it comes to sitting.
It is a chair recommended for the gamer of medium build and a height of up to 1.90 meters.
It is quite stable to have enough width in the legs (70cm). As the only downside I would say that the armrests can be adjusted in height and inward and outward, which is usually enough for most, but also would have been appreciated if they had 3D or even 4D (back-forward and inside-out) regulation.
Great quality at a good price
Very stable
Elegant aesthetics
Very comfortable and resistant padding
2D armrests
3 Corsair T3 Rush
A chair with soft fabric and a rather formal design for conservative gamers.
Material: polyester
Backrest inclination: up to 180°.
Supported weight: 120 kg (255 lbs)
Accessories: lumbar cushion and neck cushion
Weight : 22,5 kg (49.6 lbs)
If you don’t like bright colours and are looking for a gaming chair with a more formal and conservative design, the Corsair T3 Rush is a good model to consider.
It has a fairly modern style, but the best thing about it is that it’s covered entirely in polyester and is quite breathable, perfect for gaming during the summer without feeling like you’re stuck to the surface of the chair.
Overall the padding is quite soft and comfortable, although over time the seat loses its original shape. To avoid this, you can use an additional cushion.
And speaking of cushions… It includes a lumbar cushion and a cervical cushion for optimal support in those areas where the body is under the most pressure.
It can recline up to 180°, so it’s a good choice if you’re looking for a chair to take a nap in after a game or just a chair that has various recline angles.
It incorporates a heavy-duty class gas piston, which allows it to support up to 120 kg. If you are of average height, you will probably have no problem using it.
It has 4D armrests that you can adjust as you wish (vertically, horizontally or inwards towards the chair). This way you can adjust them, for example, to support your elbows while holding the console controller.
If you are a very tall person, you will probably want to consider another model, as this chair can make you feel very close to the ground due to its low height rise.
Soft, hard-wearing and breathable upholstery
4D armrests
180° reclining
Not suitable for tall people
Seat cushion loses its original shape with time of use
Not cheap
4 Dx Racer 5 Robas Lund
A fabric gaming chair ideal for those who perspire a lot while gaming or live in a very warm environment
Material: polyester
Backrest inclination: up to 135°.
Supported weight: 100 kg (220 lbs)
Accessories: lumbar cushion and neck cushion
Weight : 24 kg (53 lbs)
Have you ever wondered which chair famous youtubers and gamers who stream use? Most of them use DX Racer in its different versions because they are comfortable, beautifully designed and perfect for long hours.
This is precisely what the DX Racer 5 Robas Lund offers, an ergonomic gaming chair with a design that appeals to both boys and girls.
It will be quite comfortable if you live in a hot area or sweat a lot while gaming, as it is fully covered with durable and highly breathable polyester.
It can only recline up to 135°, so while it’s not the most comfortable for sleeping, its maximum tilt allows for pleasant gaming and movie watching.
If you’re a bit heavy, I recommend you consider other models, as this one supports a maximum of 100 kg. However, it is perfect for youngsters and adults who are within the permitted weight range.
I liked that the base where the wheels go has some texture at the ends, which is very nice if you usually put your feet on the base.
The backrest is quite high and large, so if you are broad-backed and a bit tall, you will probably feel comfortable in it.
It includes a height-adjustable neck and lumbar cushion, so you can adopt a correct and comfortable posture, although you can also remove them if they bother you.
The padding of the armrests is not perfect, although their concave shape adapts perfectly to the curve of your forearms.
Made of breathable material
Textured wheel base for foot placement
Wide and high backrest
Concave shaped armrests
Reclinable up to 135°.
Armrest upholstery is not very well padded
Not recommended for very heavy persons
5 Autofull
Very well finished chair with footrest – Ideal for short breaks.
Material: PU leather
Backrest inclination: up to 170°.
Supported weight: 150 kg (330 lbs)
Accessories: Lumbar and cervical cushion – footrest
Weight: 25 kg (55 lbs)
The Autofull chair has pleasantly surprised me when I tested it because its finishes are really good and although I like the overall aesthetics of other chairs.
The truth is that they have taken care of all the details, such as carbon fibre finishes and embroidered lettering, and it gives a premium chair look.
Another aspect that I liked is that it was more comfortable than I expected, the seat is thick and supports you very well when you sit down, it is soft but does not let you sink too much and the lumbar cushion adapts very well to your back so if this area bothers you, you will like the chair.
A point that speaks very well of the brand is that it offers a 3 year guarantee, taking into account that the law only obliges 2 years, it gives to understand that they are confident that the chair is durable. And indeed it is, with a sturdy structure (also somewhat heavy) that supports tall and corpulent people well, as it has good height adjustment and adapts well to people over 1.90 metres.
It incorporates footrests and a backrest that reclines up to 170º, so it is designed to allow you to lie down for a while, whether for a break or even a short nap.
The assembly of the chair is simple, the instructions come in Spanish and with clear images, although the lettering is missing a little larger. You will need the help of another person to assemble it.
The cervical cushion is attached with a rubber band, but it ends up lowering a little and does not end up where you want it to be, so it is a point to improve.
Regarding the armrests, I have to say that they adapt very well to the shape of the arm as they have a slight curvature, the only thing I missed is that they were 4D (they can’t be adjusted inside-outside or front-back), but it’s true that it’s not so necessary.
Very comfortable
3 year warranty
Good finish
Very robust
Somewhat clumsy design
Neck cushion support could be improved
6 Newskill Takamikura
A gaming chair with good support and cushioning for the heavy user.
Material: synthetic leather
Backrest inclination: up to 180°.
Supported weight: 150 kg
Accessories: lumbar cushion and trapezoidal neck cushion
Weight: 21 kg
The Newskill Takamikura can support up to 150 kg thanks to its gas piston, which makes it suitable for corpulent people who are quite restless while playing.
It has an ergonomic design, with soft, cushioned padding that is perfect for playing multiple games on it without feeling uncomfortable.
It reclines up to 180°, so you can adjust it to 150° to play more comfortably or fold the backrest completely and take a nap after playing or studying.
Its base and structure is made of metal, which makes it even more resistant. It is also covered in synthetic leather that is easy to clean and very soft to the touch.
I liked that both its lumbar and cervical cushions have good padding to better support those areas of greatest body tension.
The armrests are quite far apart from each other and can be uncomfortable if your arms are a bit short or you are too tall, but the good thing is that they are adjustable in height.
It is a bit noisy, so keep in mind that you should grease its moving parts from time to time to avoid those annoying squeaks.
Ideal for heavy gamers
Reclines up to 180
Lumbar and cervical cushions are well padded
Metal frame and base
Armrests are too far apart
It is a bit noisy
7 Intimate Wm Heart Racing
A comfortable, sturdy gaming chair with an excellent price-performance ratio.
Material: soft synthetic leather
Backrest inclination: up to 135°.
Supported weight: 130 kg (286 lbs)
Accessories: lumbar cushion and neck cushion
Weight: 19 kg (42 lbs)
Looking for the best quality-price gaming chair? The IntimaTe WM Heart Racing is a model that perfectly meets the expectations of those who want a comfortable, beautiful and affordable chair.
It is made of synthetic leather that is soft to the touch and easy to clean in case you spill any liquid. You can also tilt the backrest up to 135° to feel comfortable and relaxed during your games.
It has a high-density sponge, which makes it pleasant to sit on for hours at a time.
It has an 80 mm pneumatic piston that allows you to raise the chair by 1.20 m and support up to 130 kg. If you are very tall and have long legs, it may make you feel very close to the ground, although it will have no problem supporting your weight.
Its lumbar and cervical supports help you maintain a comfortable and correct position at all times, and are padded with soft cushioning and have straps so you can adjust them to your height.
The armrests are concave, so you can rest your forearms more comfortably when you’re in front of the keyboard.
The wheels are sometimes noisy, so they need to be oiled frequently, but they are quite sturdy and work well on rough and smooth surfaces.
Excellent value for money
Soft and fluffy padding
Comfortable concave armrests
Wheels are a bit noisy
Can be a bit low for tall people
Which gaming chair to buy? Key points
The design of the chairs is inspired by the seats of racing cars. This is because drivers spend several hours in front of the steering wheel and constantly make sudden movements.
This is why gaming chairs are ergonomic, comfortable and perfect for several hours of pleasant gaming. However, although they have a similar design, they are not all the same.
Below I will show you the main aspects that you should take into account when buying a gaming chair so that you can make the right choice.
Materials
Although the frame of gamer chairs is usually made of metal, manufacturers incorporate different materials for the surface and upholstery, each with different characteristics. These are the most common.
Surface material
- Synthetic leather: This is also known as leatherette and is made from synthetic materials such as polyurethane and nylon. It is soft to the touch and very easy to clean and is available in a variety of colours.
On the downside, it can crack and wear over time, and is not as highly breathable as fabric or mesh. - Fabric: Fabric chairs are often affordable due to the low production cost of this material. Depending on the type of fabric (natural or artificial), they are highly resistant to wear and tear and chemicals.
On the downside, they are more difficult to clean, as dust accumulates in the fabric fibres and easily absorbs spilled liquids. However, they are highly breathable, ideal if you live in a hot area or sweat a lot when playing.
Filling material
Foam is one of the most commonly used materials for the padding of gaming chairs because it is durable and easy to produce.
Some foams have a high density and return to their original shape even if the person spends a long time sitting in the chair. They are also perfect for people of considerable weight.
You can also find chairs with lower density foam that are softer and mould very well to the shape of the body, which is ideal if you suffer from back pain on a regular basis.
Consider your height and weight
This is perhaps the most important point to consider, after all the seat must be adapted to your size and weight so that you feel comfortable in it.
On the one hand, you must take into account the maximum weight that the seat can support. This parameter is associated with the type of piston/spring that is incorporated to regulate the height and act as a shock absorber. These are usually pneumatic pistons.
If your weight is within the normal range (50 – 75 kg) a chair with a capacity of 100 kg may be more than enough for you, but if your weight is considerable it is more appropriate to choose a chair with a higher capacity and with a seat wide enough so that you do not feel cramped.
You should also look at the height adjustment and backrest dimensions. If you are a tall person it is best to choose a chair that can be raised more than 60 cm and with a high backrest (80 cm or more), so you will not feel too close to the floor.
Tilt adjustment
Not all gaming chairs have the same recline system. Some can recline up to 180°, which is very convenient for taking a nap or resting after a gaming marathon.
Armrests
There are different types of armrests for gaming chairs. The most basic are 2D armrests, which can only be adjusted in height.
You can also find chairs with 3D armrests, which can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally (inwards, upwards and downwards) and are perfect for resting your elbows while holding the console controller.
The 4D armrests incorporate the same features as the 4D armrests with the added attraction of being adjustable forwards and backwards (in the reclining direction of the backrest), giving you more comfort, for example, when watching a movie.
Footrest
A footrest is a welcome extra if you’re the type of person who lies back in the chair to take a nap.
Not all chairs come with a footrest, but if you like to recline while you play, you’ll probably miss it to stretch your legs and keep them elevated.
Cushions
Most gaming chairs come with cervical and lumbar cushions that help to maintain correct posture and at the same time support those areas of the body where the most stress is concentrated.
In some cases the lumbar cushion has a vibration system to help relieve lumbar tension more effectively.
In any case, make sure the cushions are well padded and not excessively large if you think this may cause discomfort.
Space in your room
It’s no secret that gaming chairs take up some space, but come on, after all, they take up about the same amount of space as an office chair.
What you should consider is that if your room is too small you probably can’t afford to buy a chair that reclines up to 180° or whose base is too big.
Price
Just as there are cheap gaming chairs with standard features, there are also gaming chairs with better features at a considerable price.
Generally the more you invest, the better product you get but this is very relative, you can find gaming chairs for under €200 that are comfortable, sturdy and perfect for everyday gaming.
